Our Child Protection Policy is very robust. We have worked with many services implementing this policy and have had positive feedback from services after an ERO audit that it contains everything that is required. This policy is 16 pages long and I have included some sample pictures. the policy is based on the guidance from Health and Safety Criteria and uses the information from Oranga Tamariki, Child Matters, NZ Police, Children's Act (2014), Education and Training Act (2020), ECE Regulations (2008). In 2023 there were five name changes to the Acts in this policy, this one of the reasons I say to review it every year and provide reading time for staff in a meeting so they can read it each year. This is a high risk area for early learning services.
